Not only does "Summer Nights" capture the essence and atmosphere of, as the title says, summer nights, but it also portrays perfectly the relationship a man has with his dog. Even if that is simply enjoying a cool summer night and soaking up the atmosphere.
The use of Flash also makes this a masterpiece. There is movement in the foreground, that is so slow and subtle that it does not disturb the static ambience of the beatuifully painted background. Speaking of which, the background image is wonderfully painted with great use of negative space for the man and his companion.
Another thing to compliment is the compisition, the artist perfectly arranged objects in the picture, to keep your eye busy, without creating an overflow of details. Also, the artist has an extremely good understanding of color and of the perfect compisition of these. In this case a darker shades of blue are used as a main color, while a light, almost golden yellow gives a great contrast. And every artist with a good understanding of color-composition (and in fact poeple who've seen "Eyes Wide Shut", where this composition is also used) will agree with me, that these colors create a great atmosphere.
In conclusion, I have to say that this is one of the best and most atmospheric deviations I have seen in some time. Congratulations ~Pixx-73, you've genuinely created a masterpiece.
